Meadow Park Nursery Staff

Because we are committed to nurturing our children in acceptance, love, and fun, we are dedicated to keeping each child safe. We have developed a detailed set of safety and child abuse prevention guidelines for use within children’s ministry.

  • Each paid staff member and each regular volunteer within children’s ministry must complete an application, including 3 to 4 references. We check references.
  • Each person must give his/her consent for a background check. We run background checks on each person working, paid or unpaid, in children’s ministries.
  • Everyone working in children’s ministries, both paid and unpaid, must attend a Meadow Park safety training session which includes a detailed review of the general safety and child abuse prevention guidelines.
  • Paid workers must also be fingerprinted. All information is confidential.

Leia Barnett Bame

Early Childhood Coordinator

Leia grew up in California, and moved to Ohio three years ago to be with her family. She is married to Michael and they have two energetic weimaraners, Sadie and Simon, as a part of their family.

Leia recently accepted the position of Early Childhood Coordinator. She brings with her considerable experience as a professional nanny, a preschool teacher, and a volunteer in a Christian church setting. She has an educational background in early childhood development. Leia knows beginning level sign language and is CPR and First Aid certified. She believes God has put it on her heart to work with children, and enjoys helping them to come to know His love. With an enthusiasm that stems from knowing that “God has called her to work with children” we are blessed to have Leia join our Meadow Park family.

One of Leia’s favorite scripture passages is:
May God fill you with all joy and peace, as you trust in him so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. –Romans 15:13 NIV
